A FORTUNE, A NETWORK, A DEAL, A DEATH. THE CLAIMS.

The Epstein
Files.

How a teacher without a degree became a financier to the rich; the girls in Palm Beach and the deal that protected him; Ghislaine Maxwell; the island and the ranch; the night he died and the minute missing from the video; the “client list”, the black book and the flight logs; the intelligence and blackmail theories; and the presidents, princes and billionaires in his orbit. What happened, what was proved, what wasn’t, and 211 things people say, each rated against the record.

Whether you suspect Washington, Wall Street, Tel Aviv, Moscow or the whole system, this collection sets out the strongest version of each theory and rates it on evidence alone. It is a starting point for your own research. The record is still coming out, and ratings may change as it does.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING / RATED AGAINST THE RECORD

211 claims.
Five verdicts.

From the client list and the missing minute to Mossad, the CIA, the island temple and the birthday book. Claims people make about Epstein and his circle, from every side: who says each one, the evidence on both sides and a rating on evidence alone. Unproven is not false, and it is not an exoneration: where access or money is documented, it is rated separately from provable wrongdoing. This is a starting point for research; the files are still coming out, and ratings may change as they do.

CASE 05

2002 – 2025

The press that looked away

Epstein worked on reporters the way he worked on scientists and politicians. In 2003 Vanity Fair published a profile that left out two sisters who had told the writer, on the record, that Epstein and Maxwell abused them. In 2015 ABC News recorded an interview with Virginia Giuffre that it never aired, after a call from Epstein’s lawyer Alan Dershowitz. A New York Times reporter solicited $30,000 from Epstein for a school, and a famous author advised him on how to handle Trump. The press also broke the story in the end: the Palm Beach Post, the Miami Herald and others. Both things are true.

CASE 08

2014 – 2025

The men Giuffre named

In sworn testimony unsealed in 2019, Virginia Giuffre said Ghislaine Maxwell directed her to have sex with powerful men: former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell, former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson, the hedge-fund manager Glenn Dubin, the scientist Marvin Minsky, Prince Andrew and others. She also accused Alan Dershowitz, then said in 2022 she may have been mistaken about him. Her posthumous memoir describes a brutal rape by a “well-known prime minister” she never named. Every living man denied it. None was charged, and only Andrew paid a settlement. This page lays out what she said, what they said, and what is actually known.

CASE 13

Jul 2025 – 2026

The video and the “missing minute”

In July 2025 the FBI released about 11 hours of what it called raw footage from the jail’s common area. Viewers noticed the clock jumps from 11:58:59 pm to midnight. Then WIRED found the file had been processed in editing software. The government says nothing is missing; the release ended up feeding the theory it was meant to end.

CASE 14

1974 – 2025

Bill Barr and the Epstein case

The Barr family turns up in the Epstein story twice. Donald Barr was headmaster of the Dalton School until June 1974; that September a 21-year-old Epstein, with no degree, began teaching math and physics there. Forty-five years later Donald’s son William Barr was attorney general when Epstein was arrested and when he died in a federal jail. Barr stayed on the 2019 case after consulting ethics officials, kept himself out of any review of the 2008 deal, called the death “a perfect storm of screw-ups,” and in a 2025 deposition said he knew of no client list, had seen nothing implicating Trump and was convinced the death was suicide. To many people that is too many coincidences. The record so far shows coincidences, not a plan.

CASE 18

2008 – 2026

The survivors’ fight

Almost every disclosure in this story was forced by the women Epstein abused. They sued the government over the secret 2008 deal and won a ruling that their rights were violated, then lost on appeal over whether the law gave them a remedy. They sued banks and the estate. In September 2025 they stood with members of Congress to demand the files; Virginia Giuffre’s memoir, published after her death, sold a million copies. When the files came, some of their own names were left unredacted. This page is about them, naming only women who have spoken publicly or are named in court records.

CASE 26

2011 – 2026

Bill Gates

Bill Gates met Epstein repeatedly from 2011, years after his conviction, mostly at the Manhattan townhouse, and flew on his plane once in 2013. Epstein later appeared to threaten him over an affair, and Melinda French Gates said Epstein was one reason their marriage ended. Gates calls it a huge mistake and denies anything illicit; draft emails in the 2026 files making sexual claims about him are unverified and he calls them false.

CASE 27

2012 – 2026

Leon Black

The Apollo co-founder paid Epstein at least $158 million between 2012 and 2017, after his conviction, for what a review called legitimate tax and estate planning. He gave up Apollo, paid the Virgin Islands $62.5 million and was held in contempt by House investigators in 2026. A rape lawsuit against him was dismissed in October 2026 after the plaintiff said she could not go on. He denies any wrongdoing.

CASE 29

1998 – 2026

Larry Summers and Harvard

Epstein gave Harvard $9.1 million before his conviction and kept an office and keycard at a Harvard research program long after it. Former Treasury Secretary and Harvard president Larry Summers stayed in touch with him into 2019, and released emails show Epstein advising him on pursuing a woman he called a mentee. Summers quit OpenAI’s board and is retiring from teaching; Harvard has twice disciplined the professor Epstein funded.

CASE 30

2002 – 2020

MIT and the Media Lab

MIT took $850,000 from Epstein, most of it after his conviction, at the urging of Media Lab director Joi Ito and physicist Seth Lloyd, and recorded it anonymously. Ito resigned in 2019 after the New Yorker reported the lab concealed the relationship. An MIT-commissioned review found no evidence that Epstein laundered money through gifts from Bill Gates or Leon Black, though he claimed credit for them.

CASE 31

2006 – 2026

The scientists

Epstein, a college dropout, spent millions to sit at the table with the world’s best scientists. In March 2006, as Palm Beach police were building their case, he paid for a physics conference on St. Thomas attended by Stephen Hawking and future Nobel laureates. After his conviction, emails show, a publicist recycled the conference and his Harvard donations into press releases to push his record down the search results. He set up an investment company named for the geneticist George Church. In 2026 the files cost professors at Yale, Columbia and Harvard their posts. Most scientists who took his money are not accused of any abuse; what they gave him was respectability.

CASE 32

2015 – 2026

Noam Chomsky

The left-wing linguist met Epstein several times after his conviction, and Epstein moved about $270,000 between Chomsky’s accounts in 2018. Emails released in 2026 show Chomsky in February 2019 advising Epstein to ignore press coverage of the abuse, which he called a “hysteria”. His wife has apologized for “serious errors of judgment”. Nothing accuses Chomsky of abuse.

JPMorgan and Jes Staley

JPMorgan banked Epstein from 1998 to 2013, years after his 2008 conviction, while its own compliance staff argued he should go. The bank paid $290 million to survivors and $75 million to the Virgin Islands without admitting liability. Jes Staley, the executive closest to him, lost his job at Barclays and was banned by the UK regulator for misleading it about the friendship.

Bank of America and the money trail

Bank of America, which handled payments from Leon Black to Epstein, agreed in 2026 to pay survivors $72.5 million while denying it facilitated trafficking. A Senate Finance Committee minority report says the big banks failed to flag hundreds of millions of dollars, and files released in 2026 include a 2015 drug agency memo naming Epstein among targets of a financial probe whose outcome is unknown.

2007 – 2026

Epstein and the Gulf

The 2025–26 releases showed Epstein working the Gulf as hard as Washington. He flew to Riyadh in 2016 and boasted that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent him a tent, “carpets and all.” He corresponded for a decade with Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, chairman of DP World, who resigned in February 2026. During the 2017 blockade of Qatar he lectured a Qatari minister on what Qatar should give Israel, and later arranged a meeting between Ehud Barak and Qatar’s former prime minister. The question people ask is whether Gulf money or states were behind him. The files show access and self-promotion; they do not show Gulf involvement in his crimes.

Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist and host of War Room, spent 2025 demanding the Epstein files and calling Epstein the key to how the elite govern. The 2026 releases showed hundreds of texts between the two from January 2018 until the night of Epstein’s arrest, plans for a documentary to “rebuild your image as philanthropist,” and hours of filmed interviews. The famous

Epstein collected celebrities the way he collected scientists and politicians. Pizza, code words and Pizzagate

The 2026 releases revived Pizzagate, the 2016 theory that elites used food words as code for child abuse. Hundreds of documents mention pizza, and some phrases look strange out of context. Checked one by one, the viral examples turn out to be a youth soccer team, a doctor’s food chat and a joke website registered after the release. The blue-and-white striped building on Little St. James launched a thousand theories about occult rites. The files also hold an anonymous 2019 FBI tip alleging ritual sacrifice and cannibalism, which the FBI did not pursue and which no evidence supports.

Jeffrey Edward Epstein

Born in Brooklyn on 20 January 1953, he became a money manager to a few very rich men, a registered sex offender in 2008 and, in 2019, a federal defendant charged with sex trafficking of minors. He died in jail on 10 August 2019, aged 66. The fight over what the government knew, and who else was involved, continues.

Brooklyn to Wall Street

Jeffrey Edward Epstein was born in Brooklyn on 20 January 1953, the son of a parks-department worker. He studied at Cooper Union and New York University but never finished a degree. In 1974 the Dalton School, one of Manhattan’s most exclusive private schools, hired him to teach math and physics anyway. [1][2][3]

In 1976 he moved to Bear Stearns, helped by the parent of a student. He rose quickly to limited partner and left in 1981 under circumstances that accounts describe differently. He then set up his own firm and told people he managed money only for billionaires. [1][2] The early life, and the myths around it, are in the origins file.

The money

Nobody has ever fully explained Epstein’s fortune. In the late 1980s he worked for Steven Hoffenberg at Towers Financial, which turned out to be one of the largest Ponzi schemes of its time; Hoffenberg went to prison and Epstein was never charged. [1][4]

His decisive client was Leslie Wexner, the billionaire behind The Limited and Victoria’s Secret, who gave him power of attorney over his affairs in 1991. Epstein ended up owning Wexner’s former Manhattan townhouse, one of the largest private homes in the city. Wexner later said Epstein had “misappropriated vast sums” from his family. Decades later, the private-equity billionaire Leon Black paid him $158 million for tax and estate advice. [5][6][7] Where money and favors flowed, this collection rates separately whether people profited from the access and whether they did anything provably criminal.

Maxwell and the circle

In the early 1990s Epstein became close to Ghislaine Maxwell, the daughter of the British press baron Robert Maxwell, who died in 1991. She brought him into New York and London society, and prosecutors later said she helped him recruit and groom girls. [8] See the Maxwell file.

Over the next decade Epstein collected famous friends and acquaintances: Donald Trump in Palm Beach and New York, Bill Clinton, who visited the White House he signed into and flew on his jet, Prince Andrew, scientists, academics and bankers. He bought homes in Manhattan, Palm Beach, Paris, New Mexico and an island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. [9][10] See Trump, Clinton, the island and the ranch.

Palm Beach and the deal

In 2005 the parents of a 14-year-old told Palm Beach police that she had been paid for a “massage” at Epstein’s mansion. Detectives identified dozens of girls with similar accounts. A state grand jury returned a single, lesser charge, and the FBI opened a federal case. [11]

In 2007 the U.S. attorney in Miami, Alexander Acosta, agreed not to bring federal charges if Epstein pleaded guilty to state charges, and the deal also protected unnamed co-conspirators. In 2008 Epstein pleaded guilty to procuring a minor for prostitution and served about 13 months, much of it on work release. A Justice Department review later found Acosta used “poor judgment.” [12][13][14] See Palm Beach and the deal.

Hiding in plain sight

After prison Epstein kept rebuilding his reputation. He met with Bill Gates, Harvard and MIT academics, bankers at JPMorgan and politicians from several countries, often after they knew of his conviction. [17] In November 2018 the Miami Herald’s series “Perversion of Justice” identified about 80 women who said he abused them and brought the deal back into the headlines. Months later a federal judge ruled that prosecutors had violated victims’ rights by keeping the deal secret from them. [15][16] See the Herald series.

Arrest and death

On 6 July 2019 Epstein was arrested at Teterboro Airport and charged in New York with sex trafficking of minors. On 10 August he was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center. The medical examiner ruled it suicide by hanging; the Justice Department inspector general found the jail’s failures to be a “combination of negligence, misconduct, and outright job performance failures” but no evidence contradicting suicide. [18][19] Millions of people do not believe it. See the death, the murder theory and the jail video.

The reckoning that is still going on

Maxwell was convicted in 2021 and sentenced to 20 years. Epstein’s estate funded an independent compensation program that paid more than $121 million to about 150 survivors, and paid more than $105 million to settle the Virgin Islands’ suit. JPMorgan paid $290 million and Deutsche Bank $75 million to settle survivors’ lawsuits, without admitting wrongdoing. [21][26][22][27][28]

In July 2025 the Justice Department said there was no client list and nothing more to release. A rare left-right coalition in Congress forced the Epstein Files Transparency Act through, and the department has since published about 3.5 million pages, while a federal judge says it has not fully complied. [20][23][24][25] See the client list and the files fight. This collection is a starting point for research, not a final word, and its ratings may change as more comes out.

THE OUTCOME LEDGER

What is established?

These summaries do not replace the evidence. Open a case for the sources, responses and limits.

Where did Epstein’s money come from? ↗

Partly true

The outline is documented: Dalton, Bear Stearns, Towers Financial and years of control over Wexner’s fortune. The legend of a genius money manager to many billionaires is not. Much of his wealth traces to a few very rich men, and Wexner says some of it was taken from him.

The Palm Beach investigation ↗

Documented

Documented. Palm Beach police built a case involving dozens of girls; the state attorney’s office took a much weaker charge to a grand jury, and the 2006 transcripts released in 2024 show prosecutors undercutting the one girl who testified.

The deal: Acosta and the non-prosecution agreement ↗

Documented

Documented. The deal was extraordinarily lenient, it shielded possible co-conspirators, and a federal judge ruled that keeping it from victims broke the law. The Justice Department’s own review found “poor judgment,” not misconduct. Why Acosta agreed to it remains disputed.

The newspaper that reopened it ↗

Documented

Documented. The series did not uncover the crimes, which police had documented in 2005, but it put the victims at the center, exposed the deal, and created the pressure that led New York prosecutors to act.

The press that looked away ↗

Documented failures / coordinated cover-up unproven

The individual failures are documented by the outlets’ own staff and records. There is no evidence of a coordinated media conspiracy; the pattern looks more like access, legal fear and charm working one newsroom at a time. That is damning on its own terms, and a reason to read the coverage of the powerful with care.

Ghislaine Maxwell ↗

Documented

Documented that she was convicted of sex trafficking, lost every appeal and has not been pardoned as of 22 October 2026. Her 2025 interview and transfer are documented; whether anything was promised in return is unproven. Her own statements clearing powerful men come from a convicted trafficker seeking release, which cuts both ways.

Virginia Giuffre ↗

Documented

Documented that she was recruited by Maxwell as a teenager, that her suits produced key evidence, and that courts and settlements largely vindicated her. She withdrew one accusation, against Dershowitz. Police found nothing suspicious in her death; the claims that she was murdered are unsupported by any evidence.

The men Giuffre named ↗

Allegations documented / never tested in court

That Giuffre made these allegations under oath is documented. Whether they are true has never been tested at trial: the men denied them, no charges were brought, and Giuffre died in 2025. “Unproven” here means exactly that, not cleared; it also does not mean guilty. New evidence could change this.

Prince Andrew ↗

Documented

Documented that his friendship with Epstein continued after the 2008 conviction, that his public account was contradicted by his own 2011 email, and that he paid to settle Giuffre’s suit. The abuse claim was never tried; the UK criminal investigation into leaking was open as of 22 October 2026, and he denies wrongdoing.

The 2019 arrest ↗

Documented

Documented. The charges were never tried, so they remain allegations; the evidence prosecutors described, and the bail ruling, are on the record.

The night he died: the official record ↗

Documented

Documented: the jail failed at nearly every safeguard, and every official review since has concluded suicide. The failures are why many people do not believe it; the case on whether anyone else was involved is in the next file.

Did Epstein kill himself? ↗

Unproven

Unproven. Every official review found suicide, and nothing public shows anyone entered his tier. But the jail’s failures mean the record cannot fully exclude other explanations, and the doubts are rooted in real facts. This rating could change if new evidence emerges.

The video and the “missing minute” ↗

Partly true

Partly true. A minute is missing from the released file and the file was edited from more than one clip; that is documented. That anything relevant happened in the missing minute, or that the edit hides an intruder, is unproven.

Bill Barr and the Epstein case ↗

Links documented / cover-up unproven

The family links are real and documented. No record shows Donald Barr hired Epstein, and no record shows William Barr steering the 2019 case or the death inquiry. His sworn testimony is his account; the inspector general’s findings about the jail he oversaw point to negligence and falsified records, not murder. That could change if new evidence emerges; this is a starting point for research.

Is there a client list? ↗

Disputed

No document matching the popular idea of a “client list” has been found, and the 2026 list of names is not one. But the government’s own records name accusations against other men, an FBI document refers to uncharged “co-conspirators,” and only Maxwell has been convicted. “No list” does not mean “no one else.”

The black book and the flight logs ↗

Documented

Documented and real, but limited. The book lists contacts, not crimes; the logs list some passengers on some flights. Each shows who was in Epstein’s world, which matters; neither shows who did what.

The Transparency Act and the fight over the files ↗

Documented

Documented. Congress forced a historic release, and it is real: millions of pages are public. The department also missed deadlines, mishandled redactions, and was found by a federal judge to have conceded violating the law. Both those who say “they released everything” and those who say “they released nothing” are wrong.

The survivors’ fight ↗

Documented

The survivors’ role in forcing disclosure is documented in court records and the public record. The government’s failures toward them, from the 2008 deal to the 2026 redaction errors, are also documented. Litigation is ongoing and outcomes may change.

The birthday book and the estate emails ↗

Documented

Documented that the album and emails are real records from the estate. What individual entries mean, including the letter bearing Trump’s name, which he denies writing, is disputed. None of it is evidence that a writer took part in abuse.

Was Epstein an intelligence asset? ↗

Unproven

Unproven. The records show Epstein cultivated intelligence-connected people in Israel, Russia and the United States and boasted of his access. No document or official has established that any agency employed, ran or protected him, and the most-cited sources are hearsay. The question is fair, the government has never fully answered it, and new records could change this rating.

Was it a blackmail operation? ↗

Partly true

Partly true. Epstein used personal secrets as leverage at least once on record, against Bill Gates, and kept compromising images of young women. No released evidence shows a systematic operation to record and blackmail powerful men, and the Justice Department says it found none. Its 2025 statement is a finding about what it can prove, not a proof that nothing happened.

Little St. James: the island ↗

Partly true

Partly true. Abuse on the island is documented through survivors’ testimony and the territory’s case, which the estate settled for more than $105 million. The striped “temple” is real; there is no verified evidence of tunnels, sacrifices or ritual use. The documented facts are bad enough without them.

Zorro Ranch: New Mexico ↗

Partly true

Partly true. Abuse at the ranch is alleged by survivors and a state lawsuit, and the failure to investigate is documented by a state commission. The claim that girls were buried there comes from an anonymous email demanding bitcoin; a 2026 search found no remains. The investigation remains open.

Trump and Epstein ↗

Documented

Documented that the friendship was real and closer than Trump now says. No victim has proven in court that he took part in Epstein’s abuse, and no released record shows he did; the accusations that exist were withdrawn or uncorroborated. His administration’s handling of the files, which resisted disclosure until forced, is a separate question from his conduct with Epstein, and is documented.

Clinton and Epstein ↗

Documented

Documented that the ties were real and closer than Clinton first said, and that his campaigns, foundation work and circle benefited from Epstein’s money and plane while Epstein gained prestige. No victim has accused him of abuse and no released record shows wrongdoing. Those are two different questions, and the record answers them differently.

Bill Gates ↗

Documented / unproven

Documented that Gates spent time with a convicted sex offender over several years in pursuit of a philanthropy deal, and that Epstein then tried to use what he knew about Gates. No victim has accused Gates and no record shows he took part in abuse. The 2013 drafts are Epstein’s own unsent writing, not evidence of what they claim.

Leon Black ↗

Documented / unproven

Documented that Black paid a convicted sex offender at least $158 million, which helped fund Epstein’s life and operation, and that he has refused to answer congressional questions. That is serious on its own. Sexual-abuse allegations against Black have not been proven in court and the one lawsuit was dismissed without a finding; he denies them.

Alan Dershowitz ↗

Documented / accusation withdrawn

Documented that Dershowitz was Epstein’s lawyer and friend and helped win him the 2008 deal. The abuse accusation against him was withdrawn in a 2022 agreed statement after years of litigation, with no money paid; treat it as not established. His legal role in the deal is a separate, documented matter.

Larry Summers and Harvard ↗

Documented

Documented. Harvard’s own report found Epstein had a campus office and visited more than 40 times after his conviction. The Summers emails are real and he has apologized. Nothing in the record accuses Summers of sexual misconduct involving Epstein’s victims; the damage is to his judgment and his institution’s.

MIT and the Media Lab ↗

Documented

Documented that MIT accepted post-conviction gifts and hid their source, and that Ito took $1.2 million from Epstein for his personal investment funds. Disputed whether Epstein directed other billionaires’ gifts: the New Yorker reported he did; MIT’s review found no evidence the money was his.

The scientists ↗

Funding and reputation work documented / abuse claims mostly unproven

The funding, the conference and the publicity campaign are documented. That scientists helped launder Epstein’s reputation, knowingly or not, is supported by his own team’s emails. Allegations that specific scientists took part in abuse are unproven, with one named by Giuffre in testimony and never tested before his death.

Noam Chomsky ↗

Documented

Documented that Chomsky had a friendly relationship with Epstein after his conviction, used him for financial help and counseled him in 2019 as the Miami Herald’s reporting broke. No record shows he knew of or took part in abuse. For readers who see Epstein as a creature of the right, Chomsky is evidence that his network crossed every line.

JPMorgan and Jes Staley ↗

Documented

Documented that JPMorgan kept Epstein as a client for about five years after his conviction despite repeated internal warnings, and paid $365 million to settle claims that it enabled him; the bank did not admit liability. Documented that UK regulators found Staley misled them about how close he was. No court has found that anyone at the bank knew of ongoing abuse, and Staley denies knowing of crimes. The settlements and the warnings are damning on their own terms; they are not a criminal finding.

Deutsche Bank ↗

Documented

Documented. A state regulator found Deutsche Bank failed to monitor Epstein’s accounts despite knowing his history, and the bank paid $150 million in penalties and $75 million to survivors. The regulator found compliance failures, not that the bank knowingly aided crimes.

Bank of America and the money trail ↗

Documented / open

Documented that Bank of America settled for $72.5 million without admitting wrongdoing, and that a 2015 DEA memo listed Epstein in a money-movement investigation. What that investigation found, and why it went nowhere, is unknown. Claims that Epstein ran a drug or money-laundering empire are unproven.

The Virgin Islands cases ↗

Documented

Documented. The territory’s suits produced some of the largest Epstein recoveries, and its earlier tax breaks to his companies are part of what it sued over. None of the settling parties admitted wrongdoing. The Plaskett texts are documented; a censure failed.

The estate and its executors ↗

Documented / open

Documented that the executors have settled claims and are under scrutiny from New Mexico and, according to reporting, federal investigators; their lawyer says they have not been subpoenaed. No court has found them liable or guilty. This file is live and will change.

The victims’ compensation fund ↗

Documented

Documented. The fund paid more than $121 million, and the number found eligible, about 150, is the best public measure of the scale of the abuse, though not a complete count.

Ehud Barak ↗

Documented

Documented: a long friendship, a business partnership, money from the Wexner Foundation when Epstein ran it, and stays at Epstein properties after his conviction. These facts are central to the Israeli-intelligence theory, which remains unproven: none of them shows Epstein worked for Israel or that Barak took part in abuse.

Epstein and the Gulf ↗

Contacts documented / state backing unproven

Epstein’s Gulf contacts are documented in his own emails and texts, and one of them ended a career. There is no evidence any Gulf state or royal financed or took part in his abuse, and his boasts about influence are boasts. Some of these leads are still being reported; this is a starting point.

Peter Mandelson ↗

Documented / under investigation

Documented that Mandelson was close to Epstein after his conviction, encouraged him to fight it, and was fired over it. Documented that emails appear to show him forwarding market-sensitive government information; whether that was a crime is for the police and courts and is unproven. He has not been charged.

Jean-Luc Brunel ↗

Charged / never tried

Documented that Brunel was charged, held and died in custody before any trial; the allegations were never tested and he denied them. That his death in jail echoes Epstein’s is a fact; that it was anything but suicide is unproven.

Les Wexner ↗

Patronage documented / crimes unproven

Documented that Wexner handed Epstein extraordinary control of his money, homes and name for nearly two decades and stayed silent for years after cutting ties over what he called stolen money. No court or prosecutor has found that he knew of or took part in the abuse; a 2019 FBI document calls him a co-conspirator, his lawyers say he was a witness, and he has never been charged. Both of those things are in the record.

The 1996 complaint ↗

Documented

Documented that a written complaint reached the FBI in 1996. It is not documented what the FBI did with it. Ten years later the Palm Beach police case began from scratch, and the women who came forward after 1996 were abused in the meantime.

Howard Lutnick ↗

Contact documented / earlier account false

Documented that his October 2025 account was wrong: he saw Epstein at least twice after 2005, including a family lunch on the island four years after the conviction, and shared an investment with him. No record or accuser ties him to Epstein’s crimes.

Steve Bannon ↗

Documented

Documented that Bannon was one of Epstein’s closest political confidants in his final 18 months, coached his media strategy and filmed hours of interviews meant to rehabilitate him, while later presenting himself to listeners as an outsider demanding the truth. No record ties him to the abuse.

Silicon Valley ↗

Contact documented / wrongdoing unproven

Documented contacts, visits and investments, several of them understated at first. No record or accuser ties Hoffman, Musk, Thiel, Brin or Zuckerberg to abuse. Each side’s favourite villain had real contact; the evidence on wrongdoing is the same for all of them: none shown.

Epstein and crypto ↗

Documented / viral claims false

Documented that a convicted sex offender was an early, profitable investor in major crypto firms and that his MIT money touched bitcoin development. False that he invented or controlled bitcoin: the white paper appeared in 2008, years before any of this.

The fallout ↗

Documented

Documented: the files had real consequences, mostly reputational and mostly outside the United States. Resigning is not an admission of a crime, and most of those who left deny wrongdoing. The claim that nobody powerful paid a price is false; the claim that the powerful have been held to account in court is also false.

Norway ↗

Documented / investigations open

Documented contacts, stays, a loan and a bequest. Corruption is alleged and under investigation in three cases, none tried; the suspects deny guilt, and investigators say they are waiting for U.S. records. No one has been convicted.

The famous ↗

Contacts documented / tips unverified

Documented social contact for many famous people, some of it long after the conviction. No released record corroborates any of the anonymous tips about celebrities, and no famous entertainer has been charged in connection with Epstein. The tips are listed in the files; that is all they are.

“Epstein didn’t kill himself” ↗

Documented phenomenon

Documented that doubt about the suicide finding is widespread and bipartisan: an August 2025 poll found 41% of Americans think he was murdered, 25% suicide and 35% unsure. That belief is driven by real failures at the jail. It is not itself evidence; the evidence is weighed in the murder-theory file.

Is Epstein alive? ↗

False

False. The body was identified, autopsied by the city medical examiner and examined by a pathologist the family hired, who disputed the cause of death but not the identity. The 2026 Tel Aviv image carries the marks of AI generation.

Pizza, code words and Pizzagate ↗

False as claimed

False that the files prove a pizza code or the Pizzagate theory. The real crimes in the record used no food code; Epstein’s abuse was organised around “massages,” and it was shielded by money and lawyers, not by a restaurant.

The temple, the occult and the “ritual” claims ↗

Documented oddities / ritual claims unproven

Documented: a strange building, Islamic tiles and sacred Kaaba cloth obtained through Gulf contacts. Unproven: any ritual use. The sacrifice and cannibalism story rests on one anonymous 2019 tip with no corroboration; the viral “cannibal” emails are ordinary words in context. Satanism is not shown anywhere in the record.

Fakes and forgeries ↗

False

False, all of them, as the checks below show. Real documents are searchable in the Justice Department’s Epstein Library; anything that cannot be found there with its EFTA number should be treated as unverified.

HOW TO READ THIS COLLECTION

Follow the evidence.
Keep the distinctions.

A starting point, not the last word.

This collection is a place to begin your own research, not a final judgment. The Epstein record is still being released, litigated and investigated: court orders, new document sets, foreign inquiries and lawsuits arrive almost monthly. Ratings reflect the public record as of 22 October 2026 and may change as news comes out. Where a question is live, the file says so.

The strongest case for every side.

People come to this story from the left, the right, many faiths and none, and with their own ideas about how power works. Each theory file opens with the strongest honest case its believers make, in terms they would recognize, before the evidence on each side. Then it is rated on evidence alone, whichever side that helps or hurts.

Access is not the same as a crime, and unproven is not innocent.

Where money, favors or access flowed between Epstein and the powerful, through foundations, spouses, firms or friends, we rate two separate questions: what the record shows about who profited from or traded on the relationship, and whether there is provable direct wrongdoing. A narrow “unproven” on the second question is not an exoneration, and we say plainly when the documented facts are damning on their own.

Follow the first source.

Indictments, plea papers, court rulings, grand-jury transcripts, inspector-general and DOJ reports, depositions, released emails and the Justice Department’s own file releases sit beside clearly attributed reporting. Congressional releases are read as the work of their authors, majority or minority. Read dates and source limits.

Protect the victims.

Survivors are named only where they have chosen to speak publicly or are named in court records. No minor is identified. Allegations against named people are labeled as allegations, and settlements are not described as admissions.

Five ratings, plainly applied.

Each claim on the board is rated documented, partly true, disputed, unproven or false. Unproven is not false: it means the public record does not settle it. Fact-checkers and outlets from across the spectrum are treated as sources, not judges.

A dated AI experiment.

Checked through 22 October 2026, within the sources identified in each guide. This is an exploration of AI website creation. AI generates the writing and checks; mistakes can favor or harm any side. No automatic monitoring or updates are implied.
