The Joint Committee on Taxation, Congress’s nonpartisan tax staff, reviewed Trump’s returns for 2015 to 2020. He and Melania Trump paid $750 in federal income tax for 2016 and again for 2017, largely because of reported business losses. For 2015 they paid $641,931, and for 2018 $999,466. The staff also flagged items the IRS should have examined, and found the IRS had not audited him as required while he was president. [1]
The $750
True for 2016 and 2017. Not the whole story.
