THE CASE CABINET

One controversy.
Its own file.

Choose the question you came for. Each case has a chronology, an assessment and the record behind it.

26 CASE FILES / EACH WITH ITS OWN PAGE

CONTEXT BEFORE CONTROVERSY

A public life.

Business, television and two presidencies. A biography supplies context for the cases; it does not decide them.

Donald Trump’s official presidential portrait, June 2025

BORN / 14 JUNE 1946 / QUEENS, NEW YORK

Donald John Trump

The son of Fred and Mary Trump, he attended the New York Military Academy and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He entered the family real-estate business and built a public identity around property development, licensing and television. His political career led to election as the 45th president in 2016 and the 47th in 2024; his second term began January 20, 2025. National Archives biography ↗ · Historical Association ↗

Supporters and critics assess his policy record very differently. The administration’s biography is a useful record of its self-presentation, with an advocacy purpose. This collection focuses on specific conduct, claims and accountability questions; disagreement with a policy alone does not establish corruption. Read the administration’s account ↗

THE OUTCOME LEDGER

What is established?

These summaries do not replace the evidence. Open a case for the sources, responses and limits.

The 2020 election ↗

False outcome claim · mixed prosecution outcomes

Biden won. Recounts, litigation and later criminal cases must be judged on their own records.

January 6 ↗

Documented attack · acquittal · federal case dismissed

Historical responsibility and criminal guilt are different judgments. Neither cherry-picked speech clips nor procedural outcomes settle the whole record.

The hush-money case ↗

Criminal conviction; appeal unresolved

34 guilty counts; unconditional discharge; no final reversal established.

E. Jean Carroll ↗

Civil liability; separate appeals

Civil sexual-abuse finding; $5m review denied; $83.3m petition pending.

The New York civil-fraud case ↗

Civil liability; penalty vacated

Penalty reversal was a substantial Trump victory, not an across-the-board exoneration.

The classified-documents case ↗

Dismissed; no trial verdict

Dismissal resolved the prosecution, not the factual truth of every allegation.

Georgia: the call and the collapsed case ↗

Case dismissed in entirety · no Trump trial

The prosecution ended. Its replacement prosecutor's merits objections deserve space alongside the recorded conduct.

Ukraine and the first impeachment ↗

Impeached · acquitted · OMB law violation found

The evidence was substantial enough to examine seriously; impeachment, appropriations violations and personal criminal guilt are different questions.

Trump and Jeffrey Epstein ↗

Documented ties; criminal allegations unproved

Actual association is established; guilt by association and blanket exoneration both overreach.

Crypto & the presidency ↗

Documented business; disputed influence

The conflicts are real. A specific corrupt bargain requires more evidence than a purchase followed by a favorable decision.

The IRS Settlement File ↗

Adverse judicial findings; appeal filed

A proven unlawful leak does not validate every remedy sought in response. The July court order criticized this litigation and its handling; an appeal is not a reversal.

The Qatar aircraft ↗

Government gift accepted

Calling this Trump’s privately owned plane skips the recipient and transfer rules. Calling it cost-free skips conversion, security and operating costs.

Hotels, foreign money & family business ↗

Documented receipts; legal issues disputed

Commercial conflicts can undermine confidence without every transaction meeting the criminal definition of bribery.

Pardons, allies & accountability ↗

Clemency grants documented

Separate the legal power to grant clemency from factual claims about innocence and allegations that a favor was bought.

Watchdogs & political prosecutions ↗

Adverse rulings; appeals and claims

A procedural defeat can establish an unlawful exercise of power while leaving the underlying accusation unresolved.

Family separation & removal without process ↗

Watchdog findings; court orders

Government power to enforce immigration law does not remove the duty to track children, obey protection orders or provide legally required review.

Lafayette Park ↗

Popular causal claim weakened

The photo-op happened. Park Police’s alleged motive was unsupported.

The Housing Discrimination File ↗

Consent decree; no merits adjudication

Federal discrimination allegations produced an enforceable reform agreement. The order expressly avoided a liability finding and dismissed the personal-capacity claims with prejudice.

The Trump University File ↗

Civil settlement approved; no fraud-trial verdict

The students’ claims produced substantial financial redress. The agreement did not function as a criminal conviction or a jury verdict on every allegation.

The Trump Foundation File ↗

Misuse acknowledged; $2 million court-ordered payment

This case includes acknowledged personal misuse of charity funds. It also had specific remedies, not an unlimited judicial finding about every Trump charity story.

The Company Tax-Fraud File ↗

Corporate guilty verdicts and fines

Trump Corporation and Trump Payroll Corporation were convicted. Donald Trump was not a defendant in this prosecution.

The Bankruptcies & Contractors File ↗

Business bankruptcies documented; individual payment disputes vary

The restructurings are real and can shift losses to others. Bankruptcy itself is a lawful process, not automatic proof of a crime.

The tape and the allegations ↗

Mixed: admission of words; disputed allegations

The recording is established; separate accusations require separate evidence.

The Birtherism & Public Accusations File ↗

Birthplace conspiracy false; other statements disputed in litigation

Correcting inaccurate attacks on Trump does not excuse inaccurate attacks made by him.

The claims that lose their context ↗

Mixed: misleading paraphrases and real remarks

Read complete passages, distinguish instructions from speculation and demand the same editing standards regardless of the target.

Russiagate: interference, allegations and investigative failures ↗

Conspiracy not established · investigative failures documented

Neither a proven Trump–Kremlin election conspiracy nor a wholly invented Russian interference operation describes the public record.

HOW TO READ THIS COLLECTION

Follow the evidence.
Keep the distinctions.

A case is not a verdict.

“Scandal” describes a public controversy, not a universal finding of criminal guilt. Every case separates its allegation, evidence, response and disposition. Conduct by an aide, family member or company is attributed to that actor unless evidence establishes Trump’s role.

Keep the outcomes distinct.

A civil settlement, criminal acquittal, congressional finding, professional sanction and decision not to prosecute answer different questions. Lack of charges does not make every criticism false; an accusation does not become true because it entered a government file.

Follow the first source.

Original court decisions, agency findings and hearing records sit beside clearly attributed reporting and personal accounts. Read dates and source limits. A later release can be genuinely new evidence or an old allegation in a new package.

Trace the story’s changes.

The timelines show how an original event became an investigation, a headline or a wider theory. One proven error does not validate every related claim; one mistaken accusation does not excuse real misconduct.

Room for uncertainty.

Historical investigations had different mandates and evidentiary thresholds. Sources can contradict one another or contain errors. AI assessments are labeled and should be checked against the linked record.

A dated AI experiment.

Checked through 21 October 2026, within the sources identified in each guide. This is an exploration of AI website creation. AI generates the writing and checks; mistakes can favor or harm any subject. No automatic monitoring or updates are implied.
