Trump has said many times that he ended eight wars and deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. CNN’s fact-checker went through the list in October 2026. Three items held up reasonably well: the Armenia–Azerbaijan deal, whose leaders credit him; the July 2025 Thailand–Cambodia ceasefire, though fighting flared again; and the 2025 India–Pakistan conflict, where Pakistan credits him and India denies he was a factor. Five did not: Egypt and Ethiopia, and Kosovo and Serbia, were not at war; the Rwanda–Congo fighting continued despite a U.S.-brokered deal; Israel kept striking Gaza after the October 2025 ceasefire he helped broker; and the 2025 Israel–Iran truce gave way to the 2026 war. Credit for ceasefires is often shared and often argued. And the same period includes a war he started, with Iran in 2026.
The 2025 prize went to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, and the 2026 prize to South African human-rights jurist Navi Pillay. [2]
