What his doctors and he have said

An upbeat memo, some candid advice, and his own explanation for the bruises.

Trump told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published 1 January 2026 that he takes 325 milligrams of aspirin a day, more than his doctors recommend, because he wants “nice, thin blood,” and that this explained bruising seen on his hands. [1][2]

After his May 2026 exam, his physician said he was in excellent health and fully fit to serve, recommended he lose weight and exercise more, and advised switching to low-dose aspirin. [3][4]

What we can’t tell you. No independent medical records are available.

“Trump is dead”

He wasn’t.

Over Labor Day weekend 2025, after Trump had no public events for several days, posts claiming he had died spread widely. He reappeared, played golf and joked about it. Fact-checkers traced the rumor to speculation, old photos and an interview remark by Vice President JD Vance about being ready if a “terrible tragedy” happened. [1][2]
