The accusations from women

The tape is real. The civil finding is real. Most of the other accusations have never been tested in court — and treating ‘many accusers’ as proof of any one story is how this file gets dishonest.

This guide spines the Washington Post tape, named public accounts, Ivana’s deposition-and-clarification record, Zervos and Doe outcomes, and the Carroll civil path (cross-linked, not rebuilt) — then scores rival readings against that path.

Chapter 1

Before anyone heard the bus

Long before Access Hollywood, fragments already existed in the record. In a 1990 divorce deposition, Ivana Trump used the word rape about an encounter with Donald Trump — see Ivana’s 1990 word. [1] That sentence still circulates as if it were the whole story. It is not. In 1993 she said she did not mean the word in a literal or criminal sense, and in 2015 she called the old story without merit — the clarification and the 2015 disavowal. [2][1] Any honest card about Ivana needs both halves.

Other early fragments — including Jill Harth’s 1990s civil context — sat in archives and gossip until 2016 revived them. [3] They are not 2016 criminal findings. They are background the cascade later absorbed.

Chapter 2

The hot mic, still private

In 2005, on a bus to a *Days of Our Lives* set, Trump talked with Billy Bush. The hot mic caught him saying that when you’re a star women let you do it — that you can grab them. The recording exists. [4][5] For eleven years it stayed out of public view. The words were already a fact waiting for a publication date. Set-visit context situates the cameo day without turning every name on the bus into an accuser.

Chapter 3

October 2016: the Post hits publish

David Fahrenthold’s Washington Post story authenticated and released the tape into a presidential campaign — publication day. [4] Trump apologized and called it locker-room talk (apology entry). [6] Melania Trump said the words did not represent the man she knows. [7] Two days later, at the second debate, he told the country he had never done the things described on the tape (debate denial). [8] That is the distinction this page refuses to erase: a boast is not a confession. It is also not nothing.

Chapter 4

The cascade

Within days, named women went on the record (cascade begins). Jessica Leeds described groping on a plane years earlier and, per reporting, had told friends at the time (Leeds account). [9][10] Rachel Crooks described an unwanted kiss at Trump Tower (Crooks account). [11] Natasha Stoynoff published a Mar-a-Lago account in People (Stoynoff account). [12] Pageant and event accounts joined mainstream roundups (pageant cluster). [13][14]

Trump denied them all (blanket denials). [15] Outlets began saying “more than two dozen” (the count). [16] The count is a reporting convention with moving inclusion rules. It is not a meta-verdict.

Chapter 5

What a withdrawn suit is — and isn’t

In early November 2016 an anonymous suit alleging assault of a 13-year-old with Jeffrey Epstein was withdrawn before any hearing (Doe withdrawn). [17] Withdrawal does not prove the accusation. It also does not prove a knowing hoax. Online arguments that use Doe to validate or destroy the entire cascade are doing ideology, not evidence. Epstein association has its own guide; this file will not collapse the lanes (Epstein hard stop). [18]

Chapter 6

Zervos goes to court, then stops

Summer Zervos, a former Apprentice contestant, accused Trump of assault and sued him for calling her a liar (Zervos suit). [19] In November 2021 she ended the case without payment; her lawyers said she stood by her account (case ends). [19] No merits verdict either way. A dropped defamation case is not a finding that the underlying account is true — or false.

Chapter 7

Carroll goes public

In 2019 E. Jean Carroll published her Bergdorf Goodman account (Carroll goes public). Trump denied it and insulted her. The defamation and later battery path that followed is a full deep guide of its own — trump-carroll — and this file will not rebuild it. [20] What belongs here is the map position: among the cascade, hers is the accusation that reached a civil finding.

Chapter 8

The lookback window

New York’s Adult Survivors Act created a one-year window for otherwise time-barred adult claims (ASA window). [21] Carroll used it. Statutes are not findings about defendants; they are doors. The door mattered.

Chapter 9

The civil finding

On May 9, 2023, a jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation and awarded about $5 million (Carroll II verdict). It did not find rape under the New York Penal Law definition on the verdict form. [22][23] Civil preponderance is not a criminal conviction (civil vs criminal). It is still an official liability finding. On December 30, 2024, the Second Circuit affirmed and discussed Access Hollywood as admissible pattern evidence (CA2 affirmance; pattern evidence). [24][25]

That last sentence is why the tape still sits on this page’s critical path even for readers who want words and deeds kept apart: a court said the tape could come in as pattern evidence in the one case that was tried.

Chapter 10

The ethics line

Reporting that many women accuse him is accurate. Reporting any single untested accusation as proven is not — except Carroll’s civil finding (only Carroll found). [26] Pattern arguments that flatten Leeds, Crooks, Stoynoff, pageant accounts, and Carroll into one slogan are doing the same violence as denialist arguments that treat Doe’s withdrawal as a blanket exoneration. Evidence quality differs. Say so. The other steelman still matters: many independent named accounts still matter as history to investigate — not as a substitute for adjudication.

Chapter 11

Rival readings

Seven rival paths are scored later against the critical path. One says predation pattern. One says political hit. One says words not deeds. One says Carroll is the careful outlier. One alleges coordinated fabrication (thin). One blames media incentives. One says the civil standard was too low. Each has to say what it removes, what it adds, and what would have to be fake. [4][22][15]

Chapter 12

Memory moves

Access Hollywood weekend fractured the country in one way. MeToo reframed the archive in another (MeToo memory). The Carroll verdict entered the canon without ending the argument. [27] Public memory is not a docket. This page tracks both (polarized memory).

Chapter 13

A 2026 filing is still a filing

In October 2026 a local Florida outlet published a court-stamped civil complaint alleging assault (Florida complaint). [28] It is an allegation in a lawsuit, not a finding. This review could not independently verify the merits. Do not treat the stamp as validation. Whether it will be tested remains an open question.

Chapter 14

Hard stops

Ukraine-war material is out of scope (Ukraine hard stop). [29] Hush-money payments are a different spine (hush-money cross-link). [30] Epstein association is a different spine. [18] Grokipedia is never cited. Hostile secondaries do not get to launder a verdict after a thin primary. Biographers who recycle only Ivana’s 1990 word fail the method (secondary caution).

Start with the story if you are new. Use Explore to open individual entries. Measure theories against the critical path. [20] When you want only the short status line you arrived from, the nest gateway still works (nest seed). [26]

Chapter 16

What this file will not do

It will not pretend a listicle is a jury. It will not pretend a denial is a lab result. It will not quote Ivana’s 1990 word without her clarifications. It will not rebuild Carroll to farm another pageview. It will not import Ukraine. Those refusals are the method. [26] Campaign surrogate messaging after the tape is documented as politics, not adjudication (surrogate defense).

Chapter 17

The yardstick ahead

Sixteen critical-path steps follow the mainstream links this page actually needs: tape, publication, apology, debate denial, cascade, denials, Ivana both halves, Doe withdrawal, Zervos end, Carroll public, ASA, civil finding, appellate affirmance, “only Carroll found,” and the 2026 Florida allegation label. Rival views that want a different history have to break or recast those links in public. [24][4][1] How far pattern evidence should travel remains disputed (pattern logic).

Chapter 18

After the yardstick

Open questions stay open on purpose: which untested accounts would survive court (other suits); what happens to the Florida filing; how far the tape should travel as proof of deeds; whether any coordination claim ever grows documents. Unknown is a status, not a vibe. [28][14]

[30] This page’s job is the map of accusations, the tape, and the line between alleged and found. Carroll I sits beside Carroll II without being rebuilt here.

Why invented portraits would be the wrong pictures

Where this site has free-licensed portraits or trial imagery, it uses them. Where it does not, it uses documents, courts, and press context — labeled as context — rather than inventing faces. The people in these chapters are the women who spoke, the man who denied, the judges and lawyers who tried Carroll, and the reporters who published the tape. [9][4][20]

Where it started

Grew from the October 2016 cascade and hardened after MeToo and the Carroll verdict.[1][5][2]

Why it lives

Lives wherever ‘believe women’ meets the Access Hollywood quotes and the civil finding.

If it were true

Trump’s denials would be strategic falsehoods; many untested accounts would be more likely true than false.

How it squares with the record

It squares with the documented tape [3], the breadth of named accounts [1], and Carroll’s civil liability [2].

It overreaches if it treats every untested account as proven or erases Ivana’s clarifications. [6]

What holds up Mixed

Holds strongest on tape + Carroll; weakest when it flattens heterogeneous evidence.

Campaign rebuttals from October 2016 onward; amplified after Carroll.[1][2]

Why it lives

Lives in Trump’s own denials and partisan media that treat the cascade as coordinated.

If it were true

Carroll’s jury and the Second Circuit would both be deeply wrong; dozens of women would be lying or mistaken.

How it squares with the record

It squares with Trump’s consistent denials [1] and with the fact that most accounts were never tried [4].

It collides with the civil finding and appellate affirmance unless those are dismissed as illegitimate. [3][5]

What holds up Disputed

Trump’s own apology framing and debate denial.[2][1]

Why it lives

Lives among voters who condemn the tape but reject cascading guilt.

If it were true

Carroll would still need independent proof (which her jury said she had); other accounts would remain unproven speech-adjacent smears.

How it squares with the record

It correctly preserves boast≠confession [1][@boast-not-confession via short-nest].

It under-weights that a civil jury and CA2 treated the tape as pattern evidence in Carroll. [3]

    How this guide works

    Sources and method

Mainstream account is labeled as mainstream. Primaries (WaPo Access Hollywood publication, debate transcript, Second Circuit Carroll opinion, Adult Survivors Act text, Ivana’s own clarifications as reported) sit on claim spines; wires and roundups map names and dates — they do not replace court findings.

Rival major views (pattern of predation, all-false political hit, words-not-deeds, Carroll-as-outlier, coordinated fabrication, media-over-substance, civil-standard-too-low) get full theory cards with path.removes / path.adds / mustBeFake — not a middle-layer that launders a hostile secondary as the verdict.

Carroll’s civil path is nested and cross-linked to trump-carroll; this file does not rebuild that trial. Ukraine-war material is out of scope. Grokipedia is never cited. A filing is not a finding; a denial is not proof.
