WHO CONNECTS TO WHOM — SOCIAL NETWORK ANALYSIS
Social network analysis.
On-page social-network analysis for Ilhan Omar — the person-profile SNA product. Interactive graph plus edge cards. Labels: Documented, Contested, Open, Association, Boundary, Unproven. Association ≠ knowledge. Indictment or conviction of an associate ≠ her guilt. Scandal narrative depth (marriages, FOF, immigration paper) stays in Somalia to Congress; this section maps who connects to whom.
Former partner / spouse
Ahmed Hirsi
Documented Longtime partner and later legal spouse on the public marriage/tax spine; joint returns filed while she was still legally married to Elmi are part of the MN CFB record that produced the 2019 civil order.
Boundary Family and tax facts are not a brother-marriage finding and not an immigration-fraud conviction.
Former legal spouse · kinship dispute
Ahmed Nur Said Elmi
Documented 2009 Hennepin County marriage-index marriage; later divorce; name appears in DOJ a/k/a caption terrain around the October 2026 warrant fight.
Unproven “Married her brother” — Minnesota reporting and PolitiFact treated the sibling leap as unproven; Omar denies relatedness “to my knowledge.”
Boundary A filing caption using Elmi as a/k/a is not a court kinship finding. DNA reports described in press are labeled described-vs-shown — see Somalia to Congress.
Spouse · consultant / business
Tim Mynett
Documented Current spouse; political consultant and business owner; payments and winery strands appear in House disclosures and press as cited in Somalia-to-Congress.
Boundary Consulting payments and business ventures are disclosure/ethics terrain — not automatic proof of criminal fraud.
Business associates · winery
Will Hailer · Naeem Mohd
Documented Named in winery / civil-plaintiff strands in the public money file.
Boundary Civil disputes and failed investments are not automatic criminal findings against Omar.
Adult children
Isra Hirsi · Adnan Hirsi
Documented Adult daughter (public climate activist; Cuba and Columbia arrest coverage) and adult son (apartment-search story) named in the people file.
Boundary Their conduct or headlines are not automatically hers.
Family of origin
Nur Omar Mohamed · Sahra Noor
Documented Father described as former Somali army colonel in community remembrance (Ogaden war / Soviet training); older sister named in national reporting.
Contested Atrocity-tie claims about the father — separate from documented military service; not established by the public sources the deep guide uses.
Documented Federal convictions of multiple FOF defendants including founder Aimee Bock; Safari Restaurant co-owner Salim Said among convicted figures; Omar celebrated at Safari on primary night 2018 per contemporaneous coverage on the public record.
Association Venue and donor proximity are association edges — not proof she knew of the fraud.
Boundary She was not charged in those FOF cases as of the late-October 2026 freeze. See also Minnesota Fraud Files.
Documented Pleaded guilty; described in coverage as a former campaign worker; Advance Youth adjacency on the public record.
Association Campaign-worker adjacency ≠ her knowledge of his crimes.
Boundary His plea is his record — not a proxy conviction of Omar.
Regulators · investigators

Documented June 2019 state campaign-finance civil order with penalty; 12 Oct 2026 HSI search under warrant; DOJ extension litigation and a/k/a caption ~21 Oct 2026; reporting of a 2019 federal review that did not charge.
Open Whether any federal charge will issue from the 2026 search — unknown at late-October 2026 freeze.

CONTEXT BEFORE CONTROVERSY
Biography.
Life spine: Mogadishu birth and Kenyan-camp flight; Arlington then Minneapolis; organizer to Minnesota House to Congress. Scandal, money, FOF adjacency, and the October 2026 search are summarized in short pointers below — full narrative, critical path, and rival theories live in Somalia to Congress. A search warrant is not a conviction.
1982– / MOGADISHU · MINNEAPOLIS · U.S. HOUSE (MN-05)
Ilhan Abdullahi Omar
Ilhan Abdullahi Omar (born 4 October 1982 in Mogadishu, per her official House biography) is the Democratic U.S. representative for Minnesota’s Fifth District and one of the first Muslim women in Congress. This hub keeps biography and analysis separate from the deep guide. Contested marriage/tax paper, Israel-rhetoric fights, Feeding Our Future adjacency, immigration-document disputes, and the October 2026 HSI search are mapped in Somalia to Congress. Association with convicted defendants is not proof she knew of their crimes. A warrant is not a conviction.
Mogadishu context — birthplace on the official House biography. Credits in the Somalia-to-Congress full guide.
Mogadishu, flight, Minneapolis
Ilhan Abdullahi Omar’s official U.S. House biography places her birth in Mogadishu, Somalia, on 4 October 1982. That date and place sit on every official congressional record used in this collection; rival birth-year theories that resurfaced around the October 2026 federal search are treated as contested claims on the deep guide’s critical path, not as settled hub facts. When the Somali state collapsed in the early 1990s, her family fled. Community and family reporting — including Sahan Journal’s remembrance of her father — place the family in a Kenyan refugee camp (commonly identified as Utango / Dadaab-area camps in public accounts) before resettlement in the United States.[1]
Family and contemporaneous community accounts put U.S. arrival in 1995 with a first stop in Arlington, Virginia. Her congressional office dates the family’s move to Minneapolis to 1997, into Minnesota’s growing Somali-American community. She graduated from Edison High School in 2001. The Minneapolis years are the load-bearing chronology for later organizer work, state House service, and the Fifth District seat — not a substitute for contested immigration-document theories that other chapters and the deep guide map separately.
Sahan Journal’s remembrance of Nur Omar Mohamed describes a Somali army colonel trained in Soviet schools who commanded a regiment in the 1977–78 Ogaden war with Ethiopia. The Siad Barre dictatorship’s crimes are not in doubt as historical fact. Tying her father to a named atrocity is a separate claim; the public sources used in the Somalia-to-Congress full guide do not establish that leap, and later Garowe meeting photography (2022) is not evidence about alleged paternal crimes. Sister Sahra Noor appears in national reporting as family of origin. The hub biography keeps military-service description, dictatorship history, and atrocity-tie allegations in distinct boxes.[1]
Deep dive: Somalia to Congress — chapters on flight, camp years, and the Minnesota settlement spine.
Marriage-record context — life spine pointer; full scandal chapters in Somalia to Congress.
Family and public paper
Public accounts describe partnerships and marriages involving Ahmed Hirsi, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi (2009 Hennepin County marriage index), and later Tim Mynett. Joint-return / campaign-finance paper and the contested “brother” allegation are mapped with sources and epistemology labels in Somalia to Congress — not retold at guide depth here. Adult children Isra and Adnan Hirsi appear on the public file as named family.[2]
Minnesota House era context — organizer to state office before the 2018 congressional win.
Organizer to Congress
Omar built a local organizer profile in Minneapolis’s Somali-American and progressive networks before winning a Minnesota House seat in 2016. In 2018 she won Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District, becoming one of the first Muslim women in Congress and a national progressive figure associated with the early “Squad” cohort. The district’s DFL primary stayed competitive in some cycles — notably against Don Samuels in 2022 and 2024 — while she remained the general-election favorite in a deep-blue seat. By August 2026 she won renomination with about 80.7% in the deep guide’s freeze; Republican nominee John Nagel sits on the 2026 general calendar.[3]
Legislative collaboration with Bernie Sanders and other progressive Democrats sits beside Oversight Committee fights with Chairman James Comer and public prosecutorial statements involving Jeanine Pirro. Town-hall and campus confrontations, Israel travel disputes, and national media storms are dated in the full guide’s timeline rather than compressed into a loyalty verdict here. The biography names institutional stages — state House, U.S. House, committee removals, primary margins — and leaves ratings of specific trope or “dual loyalty” claims to the deep guide’s claim spine.
Real threats are also part of the public record. Anthony James Kazmierczak was convicted of assaulting Omar at a town hall — a documented violence spine separate from fraud or immigration theories. False viral attacks (doctored quotes, a claimed 9/11 party, a mistranslated “Somalia first” allegiance line) are labeled false in the deep guide and are not promoted as open questions on this hub. Deep dive: Somalia to Congress.[3]
MN CFB order context — pointer only; chapters in Somalia to Congress.
Campaign order and committee fights
June 2019 Minnesota CFB civil order with penalty; 2012/2019 Israel-rhetoric record; February 2023 Foreign Affairs committee removal (H.Res.76). Dated votes, apologies, and claim spines are in Somalia to Congress.[4]
Money-file context — pointer; disclosure and FOF adjacency detail in the deep guide and Minnesota Fraud Files.
Money and FOF adjacency
Consulting/winery disclosure fights and Feeding Our Future venue/donor proximity are association and ethics terrain — not automatic proof of her knowledge or guilt. Edge cards above (#sna) name the people; full chapters and rival paths are in Somalia to Congress and Minnesota Fraud Files.[5]
Federal search context — a warrant is not a conviction.
October 2026 search
On 12 October 2026, HSI searched Omar’s Washington home under warrant; reporting described immigration-paper and birth-date themes. No charges announced that week. Aftermath (subpoenas, caption fight, fundraising spike, move-after-threats) and open questions are in Somalia to Congress.[6]
Immigration / citizenship paper — pointer to the deep guide critical path.
Immigration paper
Official House baseline birth date is 4 October 1982, Mogadishu. Rival birth-document theories and the 2019 insufficient-evidence review vs 2026 search framing are Contested/Open boxes in Somalia to Congress — not expanded as hub chapters.[7]
