RECORD / AT A GLANCE

UNPROVEN

The fire was caused by a pure-oxygen cabin, flammable materials and a probable electrical arc. The review board found no evidence of sabotage, and NASA’s 2000 review of the son’s metal piece found it was cut after the fire.
