The will and the trust

Where the money went.

The will Epstein signed on 8 August 2019 poured his assets into a private trust, which keeps its beneficiaries out of the public record. Probate filings valued the estate at about $577 million. Since then it has paid about $121 million through the victims’ fund, more than $105 million to the Virgin Islands, and other settlements and legal costs. [1][2][3][4]

What we can’t tell you. Beneficiaries of the 1953 Trust have not been made public by the court.

Indyke and Kahn

The executors under scrutiny.

Darren Indyke was Epstein’s lawyer and Richard Kahn his accountant for years before his death. A class action filed in 2024 alleged they helped structure payments and accounts that kept the abuse going; they agreed in February 2026 to pay $35 million if at least 40 class members qualify, without admitting misconduct, with a final hearing set for December. Both gave depositions to House investigators in March 2026. [1][2]

In September 2026 NBC reported a federal investigation; their lawyer said they had not been subpoenaed. On 21 October New Mexico’s attorney general sued them, alleging they helped conceal trafficking at Zorro Ranch and seeking to block payouts to trust beneficiaries. They deny wrongdoing. [3][4][5]

What we can’t tell you. Fresh litigation; allegations, not findings.
