In March 2025, Musk shared video of an Economic Freedom Fighters rally where the struggle song often translated as “Kill the Boer” was sung, and said a major party was promoting white genocide. The EFF is an opposition party, not the government; President Cyril Ramaphosa called the persecution claim false. [1]
AfriForum, an Afrikaner advocacy group, recorded 184 farm attacks and 29 murder victims in 2025, compared with 176 attacks and 37 victims in 2024. Victims include farmworkers of all races. [2]
The Institute for Security Studies reported 49 farm murders out of 27,621 murders nationally in 2023–24. It found no evidence of an organized campaign against white farmers and named robbery as the main motive. [3]
