The crown princess

“Agree didn’t look too good.”

The files contain hundreds of emails between Mette-Marit and Epstein from 2011 to 2014, years after his conviction. In one from October 2011 she wrote that she had “Googled u after last email… Agree didn’t look too good.” She spent four days at his Palm Beach house while he was away. She apologised in February 2026 and later said on television that he had “manipulated and deceived” her. [1][2][3]

There is no allegation that she took part in any crime. The question Norwegians argued over was judgment, and whether a future queen kept up a friendship she knew was compromising.

What we can’t tell you. Her account of being manipulated is her own.

Jagland and the Nobel

A corruption case and a famous prize.

Økokrim is investigating whether Jagland received gifts, travel or loans in connection with his roles as chair of the Nobel Committee (2009–15) and secretary general of the Council of Europe (2009–19). The files show Epstein repeatedly offering him and his family his Paris apartment, and Epstein boasting to contacts about his ties to the Nobel chairman. [1][2][3]

There is no evidence in the released files that Epstein tried to influence a prize. Jagland is formally a suspect (siktet), denies guilt, and as of September 2026 Økokrim had not yet sent its legal request for U.S. records. [4][5]

What we can’t tell you. A Norwegian “siktelse” marks a formal suspect; it is not an indictment for trial.

Juul, Rød-Larsen and the will

The Oslo Accords couple.

Mona Juul and Terje Rød-Larsen, famous for the 1990s Oslo peace process, were close to Epstein for years. Rød-Larsen took a $130,000 loan in 2013 and resigned from the International Peace Institute in 2020; a KPMG review there found $650,000 in previously disclosed Epstein-linked donations. Epstein’s will left $10 million to their two children. Juul resigned as ambassador to Jordan in 2026. [1][2][4][5]

Økokrim has named Juul a formal suspect (siktet) for aggravated corruption and Rød-Larsen for complicity; an Oslo property was searched and both deny wrongdoing. The BBC reported he dined with Epstein in Paris in June 2019, weeks before the arrest. Børge Brende, a former foreign minister, also left the WEF after a review of his contacts. [2][3][6]

What we can’t tell you. Why Epstein left money to their children is not explained in the public record.
