In 2023 the Wall Street Journal reported that Epstein transferred about $270,000 for Chomsky in 2018, which Chomsky said was a rearrangement of his own funds with no Epstein money involved, and that they met to discuss politics and academic topics. Asked about it, he said, “First response is that it is none of your business.” [1][2]
Documents released in 2026 show more: Epstein invited the couple to his homes, Valéria Chomsky asked him for advice on family finances, and in February 2019 Chomsky wrote that the best course was to ignore the “vultures” and the “hysteria that has developed about abuse of women.” Valéria Chomsky said Epstein had sold her husband “a manipulative narrative” that he believed in good faith, and apologized. Chomsky, 97, has been unable to speak publicly since a 2023 stroke. [3][4]
