What she said, what they said

Giuffre’s 2016 testimony and the men’s denials.

In her 2016 deposition, unsealed in August 2019, Giuffre testified that Maxwell directed her to have sex with George Mitchell, Bill Richardson, Glenn Dubin, Marvin Minsky, Prince Andrew, the modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel and others, some of whom she described but did not name. [1][2]

Mitchell said he had never met, spoken with or had any contact with her. Richardson’s office called the claims completely false and said he had never seen Epstein with underage girls. Dubin’s representatives called them demonstrably false and defamatory, citing flight and other records. Minsky had died in 2016. Brunel was later charged in France and died in custody; see Jean-Luc Brunel. [1][2][3]

What we can’t tell you. The testimony was never cross-examined at a trial of any of the men.

The Dershowitz reversal and what it means

Giuffre withdrew one accusation. She did not withdraw the others.

In November 2022 Giuffre, her former lawyer David Boies and Dershowitz dropped all their lawsuits with no payment. Giuffre said she may have made a mistake in identifying Dershowitz, given her youth and the trauma; Dershowitz said he never had sex with her and withdrew his claim that Boies ran an extortion plot. [1][2]

Some readers take this as proof that her whole account was unreliable; others note she stood by every other allegation, and that Andrew paid to settle. Both readings go beyond the record. The statement applies to Dershowitz alone. [1][2]

What we can’t tell you. Neither side admitted any other fact.

The unnamed prime minister

The memoir describes the most violent assault in her account but does not name the man.

In “Nobody’s Girl,” Giuffre writes that on Epstein’s island when she was 18 she was raped and repeatedly choked until she lost consciousness by a man she had described in legal filings only as a “well-known Prime Minister,” and that Epstein refused to promise not to send her back. The UK edition calls him a “former minister”; the publisher has not explained the difference. [1][2]

The internet has assigned the passage to several men, most often Ehud Barak, who has denied any wrongdoing. No court record, released file or reporting cited here identifies the man. Naming him on this page would be a guess, and this site does not publish guesses as facts. [1]

What we can’t tell you. A memoir is not testimony, and Giuffre cannot now be questioned about it.
