Deaths

The “Clinton body count”

Ron Brown, Mark Middleton, Jeffrey Epstein and the list

RECORD / AT A GLANCE

Unsupported

Long careers produce long lists of acquaintances, and some of them die. Checked one by one, the best-known cases were ruled accidents or suicides by investigators, several of them hostile to the Clintons. Epstein’s death showed real prison failures, not evidence of a hit.

OPEN THE RECORD

Sources & limits.

Numbered citations in each article identify the relevant sources. These records have different purposes and evidentiary weight.

  1. DVIDS: Air Force releases Brown crash investigation report, 1996 ↗

The accident board’s causes: command failures, an improperly designed approach and crew error.

  2. Washington Post: Justice Dept. declines to probe death of Brown, 9 Jan 1998 ↗

Reports the “hole in the head” dispute among military pathologists and DOJ’s decision.

  3. PolitiFact: Former Clinton White House aide wasn’t murdered, 23 Feb 2023 ↗

On Mark Middleton’s 2022 death, ruled a suicide; cites Arkansas court filings and local reporting.

  4. DOJ Inspector General: Findings on Epstein custody and death, June 27, 2023 ↗

Primary Inspector General findings: serious custodial misconduct and no evidence contradicting FBI’s conclusion about absence of criminality in the death. Not a claim that the prison acted competently.

  5. FactCheck.org: Clinton death-list claims and their political amplification (2020) ↗

Historical fact-check of political amplification of the death-list theory. Used with the specific investigation records, rather than treating a list as collective evidence.

  6. DOJ and FBI memorandum on the Epstein investigation, July 2025 ↗

Two-page official memo: no incriminating “client list,” no credible evidence of blackmail, death ruled a suicide. An agency’s own conclusion, contested by people on the left and right.
