The Times reported on 30 May 2025 that Palantir’s Foundry platform was being used at agencies including Homeland Security and Health and Human Services, and that this could make it easier to combine information across agencies. [1]
Snopes checked federal spending records and found Palantir received between $228 million and $542 million a year in federal contracts from 2020 to 2024, mostly from the Defense Department. It concluded: “We found no evidence that Palantir itself was compiling any master database, as social media posts claimed.” [2]
Palantir said it is not building a master list or surveilling Americans, and that its customers own and control their data. Its documentation describes access controls and audit trails, which the customer configures. [3][4]
