The Interior Department’s inspector general found that the U.S. Park Police had planned to clear the park so a contractor could install fencing, and had started the plan before learning that Trump might walk through. The evidence did not support the claim that Park Police cleared it for his visit. [1]
The report also found that warnings to protesters were inadequate and could not be heard by many, and that agencies coordinated poorly. It did not examine decisions by the White House or other agencies, such as the Secret Service, in detail. [1]
