The Paul Pelosi attack

A deleted link.

Days after a man broke into Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home and attacked her husband with a hammer, Musk replied to Hillary Clinton with a link to the Santa Monica Observer, a fringe site, saying there was a “tiny possibility there might be more to this story.” He deleted it. [1][2]

The Allen mall shooter

Evidence called a “psyop.”

After a gunman killed eight people at a mall in Allen, Texas, in May 2023, Bellingcat traced his social-media profile with neo-Nazi content. Musk called the reporting a “psyop” and questioned it. [1][3]

Law enforcement confirmed the gunman had neo-Nazi tattoos and posts. Musk defended his doubts. [2][4]

Hurricane Helene

FEMA and the aid flights.

In October 2024, Musk said FEMA was blocking flights of supplies into areas hit by Helene and seizing goods. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said that was false, and PolitiFact found no evidence that FEMA or the FAA blocked aid flights. Musk later said the issue was resolved. [1][2]
