Omar Fateh

A celebration video from 2021 later became Exhibit A in the political fight over who stood near Feeding Our Future. Presence and lobbying claims are documented on video; a fraud conviction against Fateh for FOF is not.

STATUS · TOPIC · PEOPLE ADJACENCY · NOT A FOF CONVICTION CLAIM

Omar Fateh (Minnesota state senator; Minneapolis mayoral-adjacency): appears in a June 2021 Feeding Our Future celebration video describing lobbying Walz’s office after an MDE payment fight — association/political adjacency, not a DOJ finding that Fateh committed FOF fraud. Cross-link FOF nest and Omar associations carefully.

WHAT IS DOCUMENTED

Celebration video.
Lobbying claim.
Not a fraud conviction.

Omar Fateh is a Minnesota state senator who has also been in Minneapolis mayoral politics. In a June 2021 community celebration video after Feeding Our Future’s legal fight with the Minnesota Department of Education over payment holds, Fateh appears as a speaker. Reporting on that video (later reused in trial/political coverage) quotes him describing outreach to Gov. Tim Walz’s office and recounting that the office said there was “zero evidence of fraud” at the time — a political/oversight claim about what officials said, not a courtroom finding about Fateh’s personal criminal liability.

Also visible in related celebration coverage: Minneapolis Council member Jamal Osman and FOF founder Aimee Bock (later convicted on FOF fraud counts). Shared stage ≠ co-conspirator finding. This nest exists so the Fateh adjacency is a touchable elephant part under Minnesota Fraud Files without stuffing a mayoral bio into the Omar (Ilhan) pages.

Documented

Video exists; Fateh speaks; Bock later convicted; FOF prosecutions are real.

Not documented here

No DOJ release in the sources below charges Omar Fateh as a Feeding Our Future fraud defendant. Do not invent one.

Rival paths

Path A: political support/access helped a fraudulent org stay paid longer — adjacency critique. Path B: elected officials advocating for a constituent nonprofit during a civil payment dispute before fraud was proven — ordinary representation. Both stay labeled.
