Muse Mohamud Mohamed was convicted of lying to a grand jury about absentee ballots while volunteering for state Sen. Omar Fateh — not for Ilhan Omar.

A federal jury convicted Muse Mohamed in May 2022 of false statements about delivering absentee ballots in the August 2020 primary; he was Fateh’s brother-in-law and campaign volunteer. [1][2] ^[1]

He was sentenced to house arrest and probation. Fateh denied knowledge. [3] ^[2]
